Jack Owen is here!!!

Jack Owen was born Friday May 14th, 2010 at 6:05pm via C-Section. He was 6lbs 3oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He is precious and Tim is a wonderful, hands on daddy! We love having him in our lives and adjusting very well. He loves to sleep in like his parents making a perfect match:)
At my frist appointment I was down 18 lbs. My next appointment is Thursday, I hope I have lost a lot more. I am working on Birth Announcements and Thank You cards, pictures will be posted later this week.

Living Room Reno

Eventually we are redoing the kitchen. Part of those plans included a window in the wall from the kitchen to the living room! Well when Tim has plans and an idea he does it. So I came home from work on Thursday and there was a whole in the wall in the kitchen. I left for dinner and came home to the whole through into the living room. Then the wall patched up. Painting was done for the living room during the week. Then Saturday his dad and him finished the trim, paint and sheetrock. It looks great. The kitchen is still in between because we are deciding on cabinets, counters and layouts. Not to mention the tax credit check which will be a another 2 or so months.

The remaining days.. ramblings

Less than 2 weeks until my due date. Tim has flown and I am very grateful for that.
In 9 (10 really) months:
I started a new job 9/9
Found out we were expecting 9/11
We house hunted-starting in October
Found out we were having a BOY!! 12/29
Bought a house 4/1
Moved and have done painting & some renovations in less than a month 4/10
and now we have 2 weeks +/- until Jack shows up. Are we ready? I'd like to say we are but also we don't know what to expect 100%. I can only do so much around the house lately. I feel I have enough stuff ready for the little man to enter now. I am excited for the months and years ahead. Even if I woke up sweating this morning for a dream/nightmare I was really pregnant with 4 at once!!! EEK!
Tomorrow is Mother's Day and Jack could even show up then, if not I will be spending the day with my mother and mother-in-law and family. Taking it easy and enjoying the pampering I receive.
To all the mother's out there enjoy your day!!! Happy Mother's Day.

Long Eventful Day at Doctor and Labor & Delivery

So today I had a routine appointment with ultrasound. I had been having cramps/pains for the past 2 days but waited to say things until today when I got to the doctors.

Well the ultrasound went well, he is "measuring small" at 6lb 6oz right now at 38 weeks. A doctor checked though and said everything is okay. They then sent me straight in with my nurse and doctor.

The nurse checked my blood pressure and touched my feet, from the looks between the nurse and Tim, I could sense something was wrong. She asked if I was getting an internal and I said I believe so. I got ready and waited for the doctor.

My doctor came in and re-checked by blood pressure, she did the internal and couldn't reach my cervix (boy did it hurt). She immediately told us we were going to labor and delivery for tests and that if my blood pressure doesn't go down I would be induced. I started crying, thank god Tim was with me because I had been going alone lately. I was crying because of nerves, my bags were at home and this wasn't "my plan". Also my doctor doesn't "worry me" I have talked about my feet, aches and everything is always "due to pregnancy" so when she acted and spoke today with concern it made me nervous, she has never been like this with me.

I went over to the hospital (they are walking distance apart). I felt like an a homeless person. Tim was in work boots, camo shorts, FDNY shirt and hat since he has been renovating our house this week. I am carrying a CVS bag only with my wallet, magazine and camera in it. I am trying not to cry.

The IV hurt like a mother, and the whole time it was in I was in pain. I started having sharps pains again and just laid there crying. I was told its fine, FINE TO CRY IN PAIN? I have done every filling without pain meds and drilling in my teeth and this pain down there has me crying is nothing? I was not a fan of the nurse.

My pressure went down over the hour and my tests came back fine, so I was released. I have to call the office tomorrow, and get a follow up for Monday, I am out of work Monday and possibly the rest of pregnancy, will find out Monday. I am pretty sure I am going to stay home no matter what until he comes. My feet and body cannot take it anymore.

So Jack watch is still on, hopefully he comes very soon and without the drama I had today. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, comments and messages checking in.

Only 14 days left until his due date.

Elephant Feet

I have elephant feet. I am at a size 10 in flip flops and I can easily wear an 11. I started in August at my usual 8. At least I only have about 18 more days left. My mom is convinced and hopes he comes out on Mother's Day. I hope he comes soon but not on the 15th or 16th since those are Kim's Graduation Days. Although we did just find out that Rob is coming home for a few nights so that will be nice if the baby comes while he is home. Rather then a few months after Jack is born.
I have been blessed not to get any stretch marks on my stomach at all. WooHoo! Even with my 50lb weight gain at this point. My next appointment is Monday (tomorrow) and I should find out my new weight, see if I am dilated at all. Tim and I did so much around the house this weekend. I love it! We bought plants and flowers and did that yard work. We bought curtains for Jack's room, I hung up his letters and dresser is in. All that is left is to put away more and him to get here. Even then he will be using his bassinet in our room.
Well I am going to use my elephant feet to walk me upstairs and to bed on this steamy hot night. I hve been waiting for the rain that never showed. I really hope it does cool off soon for I don't know how much longer I can last in this heat with this baby belly. XOXO

Getting old, Friday nights.

I used to laugh at my parents that their excitement on a Friday night was dinner and food shopping. Back on the couch watching TV near 9pm. When I got pregnant, my weekly routine became that, food shopping on Friday nights with them. Tim usually works Friday nights so it kept me entertained and got things done at the same time. Also the food stores are pretty empty. So you make it out quickly through the store.

Tim and I went tonight to do our shopping, everything was empty after 9:30pm. Kohl's for a carpet for Jack's room. Starbucks for vanilla syrup (and a chai tea) and then Hannaford for weekly groceries. To come home to unpack and do our own thing. I am looking forward to bed and sleeping in Saturday morning. As much as I miss staying out until 4am, I am looking forward to this mommy life.

I am looking forward to our next chapter to start. 21 more days. Hopefully he stays baking, for a those days. Kim's graduation dinner is this weekend, next weekend I look forward to hosting a mini party for my friend Briana's birthday and the following weekend going to Kim's college graduation in Albany. She is graduating early!! I wannabe there. So he can come anytime after the 16th. I do have a hair appointment for the 18th but if he wants to come I'll allow it ;)
